This is a theme poem for my current work:

A NEW PERSON


When I was young I made plans
Tiny plans for the immediate future
I had many tiny successes
And a few tiny failures

In the past three years
I have gradually changed

Now I make huge plans
Long term plans
I do this deliberately
Because I have faith

In the next five hundred
To one thousand years
My children will have successes
Beyond my wildest dreams
